I have to admit, I was a bit scared when my friend asked me to create a necklace for her with her son's name on it. She showed me a picture, and said "If you could make me something like this, that would be perfect". The first hand-stamped necklace I made was a simple disk with a single name and birthstone, and when I gave it to my friend, it made my heart so happy to see how much that little piece of metal meant to her.

In addition to making my heart swell, creating custom jewelry provides my hands with a creative outlet. In the past, scrapbooking had been a passion for me but I found that with motherhood, came less and less time to put my memories on paper...I was too busy creating them in real life. Things have slowed down around here, and I've been able to get back into the creative arts, this time with a hammer and letter stamps instead of scissors and alphabet stickers.

Artistry is in my blood...my mom has always been crafty; everything from sewing to paper mache. I call her the pack rat because she saves everything, knowing I'll eventually call her and say "Do you have this, or that?" I'm often thankful for her pack rattiness :) My father was a woodworker, and created so many beautiful pieces. I'll always cherish the memories I have of us spending time together in his woodshop, me with a pocket full of nails, him covered in sawdust.

My life outside of SilverLush consists of one 16 year old who's keeping me on my toes! She's a smart, funny, compassionate, blue-eyed angel, and just an awesome kid all around! The other half of my heart belongs to my husband of 20 years. We love exploring wineries together, hanging out at the beach, and spending time with friends.

My formal training is in Graphic Design, but I consider life to be a much better teacher.
